With the foundation of the Rosarium in Sangerhausen in 1903, the extinction of well-tried rose varieties and species was to be counteracted. In the course of time, an orderly standard assortment has been created, the preservation and continuous expansion of which are important tasks of our Europa-Rosarium up to the present day.
With the internet database, which is freely accessible to everyone, we offer interested rose lovers the possibility to inform themselves in detail about the listed representatives of the Rosa L. genus. We have compiled an extensive collection of data and images on selected rose varieties and species. Information on the individual locations is also included. For the locations of the Europa-Rosarium, orientation is facilitated by the posted site plan. As a first step, roses that are already part of the collection of the Deutsche Genbank Rose were included in the Internet database. These are mainly modern, European cultivars. The data and image stock will be continuously expanded.
Numerous search and filter functions enable the compilation of lists tailored to specific needs, which are backed up with background information such as breeder, class and synonym details as well as descriptions. An export function allows the information and selected images to be saved or printed in pdf format.
We wish the users of the internet database a lot of fun with their research and would be pleased about their feedback. Of course, we are also open to critical comments and suggestions for improvement.
